Un ouvrier décède après un incident à la centrale Fukushima Daiichi

Un ouvrier est décédé vendredi après-midi � la centrale accidentée Fukushima Daiichi après un incident lors de travaux sur le site, a annoncé la compagnie gérante Tokyo Electric Power (Tepco).

Un travailleur a "été enseveli sous des sédiments" lors de travaux d'excavation près d'une zone destinée � l'entreposage de détritus, a expliqué un porte-parole de Tepco, Masayuki Ono, lors d'une conférence de presse.

"Il a été transporté � l'hôpital où son décès a été confirmé", a-t-il ajouté, précisant que c'était "la première fois depuis l'accident atomique du 11 mars 2011 qu'un ouvrier meurt en cours de travaux sur le site".

Cet ouvrier effectuait des préparatifs pour l'entreposage de détritus. Il était � l'intérieur d'un trou quand il a été enseveli par de la terre, selon les premières explications.

"Il a été conduit inconscient dans une salle de soins d'urgence puis dans un hôpital d'Iwaki, une des villes les plus proches hors de la zone évacuée", � plusieurs dizaines de kilomètres.

"Les services de police sont en train d'enquêter sur place et d'interroger les témoins", a aussi précisé M. Ono.

"Nous n'avons pas pour le moment d'autres informations � donner", s'est-il excusé.

Il ne s'agit pas d'un employé de Tepco mais d'un ouvrier quinquagénaire travaillant pour une autre société.

Quelque 3.000 personnes de centaines d'entreprises oeuvrent chaque jour � la centrale Fukushima Daiichi, ravagée le 11 mars 2011 par un gigantesque tsunami.
